World Graphic Design Day is celebrated every year on 27 April.
The day has been celebrated since 1995, on the anniversary of the International Council of Graphic Design Associations, with the aim of recognising the role of communication design in the world.
On this day, congratulations are due to all graphic designers and all professionals working in the field of design. Activities such as graphic designers’ meet-ups, design competitions and designers’ presentations, amongst others, take place. On social media, creations and photos relating to the occasion are shared using the hashtag “World Graphics Day”.
Graphic design is a creative process that conveys a specific message to a target audience. In graphic design, various methods are used to create and combine words, images and symbols, with the aim of constructing a visual representation of ideas and conveying messages.
