Yes, it’s true! You can upload to Instagram from your computer, and it’s super easy.

As we know, Instagram is a mobile app for sharing moments through photos or videos. Unfortunately, you can’t install it on a computer. It’s used by millions of people and is increasingly one of the most popular ways to share photos and make yourself known to the world. It’s mainly used by young people, but many adults have also jumped on the Insta bandwagon.

It’s not as convenient as on your phone because you can add multiple accounts, and whenever you want to switch accounts (on mobile), you just tap the little arrow at the top, and it automatically shows the accounts you’ve added so you can choose which one to manage.

Buuuut it’s always handy for those who do everything from their computer. How many times have you wanted to post on Insta and had to transfer the image from your computer to your phone to post it?

Below, we’ve left some tips on how to post on Instagram from your computer.

To start, open your browser, for example Chrome (that’s where we tested it), and go to the Instagram website (www.instagram.com). Log in to your account, and you’ll see something like the image below:

Step 1 – Inspect the web page

Step 2 – Select the right platform

A bunch of characters appear that look like gibberish to you, right? Ignore them, because that’s not important for now! Don’t worry!

What really matters is at the top where it says “iPhone X” (the platform you’re going to change to the mobile version). Click on it, and several models will appear. You can select any of them except the last two options, which are the iPad. Unfortunately, you can’t post from these two platforms on the computer.

Note: If you click on the “Edit” option, you’ll find other platforms you can add and try out too.

Is the image ready? Then click “Next” to add a caption, choose a location, and tag people. In this case, on your phone you could share to other social networks, but on the computer it is not possible.
